while we were “home”, we also managed to squeeze in a little birthday celebration for the crazelnut. her actual birthday is in a week, but we will be all alone on the road, so we had a little family party between our thanksgiving and our extra early family christmas.
since i sold all of my cake stuff, i opted for a delicious and super chocolatey costco cake and added some train track scenery with a few tubes of wilton icing and some plastic tips. to top it all off, i just used an actual wooden train of “ashima” (hazel’s fave).
the big kids decorated some recycled packaging brown paper and we were all set.
first. presents. (and more recycled packaging. shhhhhhh.)
then, the cake. hazel approves.
she likes to be the center of attention.
there was a bit of frustration with the blowing out of the candles, but with some assistance, we recovered.
there will likely be another small celebration on her actual birthday, because who doesn’t love extended birthday parties?
