as you may or may not know. we are huge fans of vance joy. we fell in love with him when we lived on the road. i can even remember where we were during the time when we discovered his music. hazel, only three at the time, knew all the lyrics to several songs, and would belt them out in the most adorable way. so, we love his music, but there’s also a lot of nostalgia in there too.
anyways. derek bought us (me) tickets to go see him on a tour for the ten year anniversary of his first album. derek and i had seen him at the fillmore in charlotte, a year or so ago, and it was general admission and sort of stressful. this was at an actual seated venue, so we had way less stress, much more comfort, and even though we weren’t front row (impairing our hearing), we had a great view and the best time.
we arrived early and watched the opener and waited anxiously. 🙂

finally!! the show began.
and then. the most adorable thing happened. hazel started crying. i thought it was because she was still struggling to see because everyone stood up. so we propped her on a chair and positioned her in a spot we thought could see through the crowd. and she still was crying. after a few minutes and trying to understand what was happened, we realized she was crying from happiness of seeing vance joy in person in real life.
the concert was amazing. i know that pictures of live music are boring, but i’m not about to upload the million video snippets we took. we had the best time.
we will 100% go see him again. fave.
