are you tired of coneflowers yet?

because i am not.

these will be the last two coneflower themed projects for a bit. but i make no promises for next spring or so. i lied. i make a promise. there’s more coming in spring. 🙂

anyways. i wanted to make an epic bday gift for my pal heather’s birthday. so, i stealthily obtained top secret info from her daughter about favorite colors (navy, kelly green, gold) and got to work. gotta say, i do love that color combo so this was a fun one. plus, i had like 900 more fabrics to pull from after all of the summer quilt shop stops.

i worked in a lot of gardening and outdoors themed fabrics for my fellow outdoor loving and flower gardening friend.

i even remembered to use one of my labels. and i had a lot of fun picking out perfect fabrics for the patchwork backing. the little volleyball scrap. the north carolina landmarks. the northern lights. various flowers. all hopeful faves for her.

anyways. i think she loved it.

and then. finally. it was time for one for myself.
so weird, after making so many of these for gifts over the last few months. i already had several on the design wall, so i picked two faves and made a double sided flower tote for myself. blues and oranges. it’s my favorite. i use it mostly for class at this point. its a perfect size. and it lets all those little teenagers know how cool i am. a middle aged mom who quilts. very cool. hahahahahahah.

derek made me pose with it. 🙂

not sure what side i like better. so, i guess its good that i get to be the recipient of a double sided one.

and! i even remembered a tag for this one!!!! two in a row.

anyways. enjoy your quilty coneflower hiatus. but don’t get too comfortable.
