since anna was born, most of my internet time has been on my phone. since i am terrible at typing on my phone, i mostly just post pictures and tweets. not many very informative blog posts. but, if you’re reading this, you probably already know that. well, i have a few minutes of actual real computer time right now, so let’s see how much information i can blast at you…
isaac:
isaac still is very much enjoying being a big brother. probably because anna is still immobile. great, now i spoiled the anna update. ๐ isaac loves to kiss anna’s hands and feet and head and belly. a lot. it’s cute. except when i’m trying to get her to sleep. or when i’m carrying her and he’s pulling on her legs to get them to his awaiting kissy lips.
he’s getting ready to start pre-school for two days a week at calvary baptist day school. he’s visited his classroom and received all his materials. he says he’s ready, but i’m not sure he knows what he’s in for. i am ready. very ready. ๐
currently, isaac enjoys playing with his toy story toys and/or watching toy story movies. derek just bought him a “jessie, the yodeling cowgirl” doll to go with his buzz lightyear and woody dolls. he also enjoys reading. and by reading, i mean listening to other people read to him. he would let me read books to him all day long, if it weren’t for that pesky baby needing things all the time. at every bedtime, we have to negotiate a number of books, depending on behavior, time, tiredness, etcetera. isaac usually starts at 10. i start at 3 or 4. we arrive at 6 or 7. then, he takes an eternity selecting his 7 books. and i just hope for relatively short ones.
finally, let me tell you about isaac’s behavior… as you may know, he was a really difficult baby. but, i would always say that it was worth it, because after 4 months he was an angel boy. a little rambunctious, but quite pleasant. that was until recently. he’s really stepping up his A-game, lately. mouthy. quick-tempered. mischievious. defiant. untruthful. there’s been lots of crying. spanking and pinching. time-outs. time spent in his room. it’s been a little tough. and that is why i’m looking forward to preschool two days a week. ๐
anna:
she’s doing swell. growing like a little weed. she can grab things and put them in her mouth. she’s working hard on getting her thumb into her mouth. until she does that, i’m living a life of replacing her pacifier several times a night. i’m hoping it comes soon. tired mom + obnoxious 3.5 year old boy != good times. (!= means “does not equal” to you non-mathy computery folks). anyhoo… back to theannababy. she’s full of smiles. she’s very easy going. she likes to watch isaac most of all.
she is still not sleeping terribly much. she likes to sleep about 2-2.5 hours a day for naps. usually spread across 3 or 4 naps. it’s frustrating when isaac is demanding. she’s not crabby about it though, so it’s not too bad when he’s more agreeable. at night, we try to get her down between 8 and 9. we dream feed her around 10 or 11. and then hope for a good stretch. sometimes she can make it until 530 without a stir. other times (last night), she’s up at 230 or 3. i can usually get her back to sleep with the pacifier, but sometimes wind up putting her in bed with us. *gasp*. she gets up between 530 and 630, ravenously hungry.
anna loves to stand up (with some help of course). she hates to be reclined. when she’s in her swing, or carseat, or being held, she’s always trying to sit up. she likes to see the world. the bumbo chair is a hit. we even went for a walk in the stroller yesterday while she sat (semi)upright. she loved it.
well, i think that’s about it from here. anna has awakened and is determined not to return to sleep for her morning nap, which lasted about 28 minutes. so, i should see if i can help her nod back off to slumberville. isaac is rotting his brain with the disney channel. and i would like to suck down another cup of coffee before things really get rolling at the lid-house.
sorry for all the words and stuff. i’ll go back to cute kid pictures only…
