rich stadium. aka: the ralph, highmark.

as soon as we settled on the dates for our summer trip to ny, i immediately hit the bills website to see if there were any public tours of their stadium that we could attend during our stay. turns out, there absolutely was and we booked it. (it made for a very long travel day from the adirondacks to orchard park and then back to batavia, but we are committed).

this is the last year the bills will play in highmark stadium, previously ralph wilson stadium, previously rich stadium. the new stadium is being constructed just across the street and it’s quite striking compared to the current field.

we did some window shopping/planning at the bills store and then waited for our tour to begin.

our tour guide was chock full of information. we learned a lot about the history of the bills and the stadium. it was so cool to see my kiddos eyes light up when they first laid eyes on the hallowed ground.

oh yeah. we made frankie come with us. 🙂

i think everyone was most excited about the locker room. before we went in, our guide blasted the shout song in the tunnel and we all danced and sang our little bills mafia hearts out.

so, i’m pretty sure these were just set up as little prop lockers, because the rest of the locker room was empty, but our guide assured us this was actually josh’s locker. after we waited for some gross grown women who cut in front of children to take their one million photos, we hopped in quickly for our turns.

after the locker room, we made our way through the two press conference rooms. the differences between the visiting and home team facilities was stark. haha.

then, we got to run out of the tunnel. \

of course we had to have a 40 yard dash race. isaac won. it was humbling. also, i think i have not run an all out sprint in like 15 or more years.

we roamed around. soaked it all up. took all of the pics. it’s so surreal.

the whole thing was such a cool experience. the kids all seemed to enjoy it. and then we spent a zillion dollars in the bills store.

and finally. we were off to batavia.
