for our second beach day, we enlisted the help of derek for our commute. parking is $25. the bike ride home is a little rough for my tiny people AND for me pulling one tiny person and all of our beachy stuff. so, he dropped us off. and when he did, i realized i had forgotten my phone. so we scheduled a pick up time and i pretended it was the 80s and just enjoyed the beach without the internet.
then derek brought me my phone.
so i came back to 2016 and started taking a million pics.
the kids were soooo good.
i just sat in a chair and read a book.
it was high tide, so they steered clear mostly.
we brought two trains. one will forever remain at the beach. thomas survived.
hazel is a drip castle natural.
isaac made this scooby doo sand diorama.
before our departure, we smashed everything, filled in holes, looked for missing toys. with great flair.
by the time we were about to leave, tide was well on it’s way out, and the little pool had formed. the kids played on the sand bar, while hazel waded around in the pool. i was cleaning up toys when she suddenly started shrieking in terror. a wave had come in and she was definitely not a fan. so, i saved her life and plopped her here, grumpy, while i finished the clean up efforts.
we waited by the road for our chariot to arrive. on the ride home, it began to rain, so our timing appeared to be perfect.
the end. 🙂
