summer beach trip. last days.

alrighty. time to wrap this thing up. when anna and derek returned from their fishing trip, we still had a whole afternoon to kill. as you may have heard, two thirds of the kids were very much over the beach. we decided it would be a good time to do some shopping and sight seeing. i have very few pics of the shopping, because that would be weird, but i vaguely remember a fudge shop, a thrift store, and a super fancy gift/coffee/consignment shop. they may or may not have been this day though. i also fabric shopped but i think that was maybe the aquarium day. haha. it’s a blur.

we added another nc lighthouse to our collection. it was kind of cool for hazel whose class had wrapped up their yearlong study of north carolina with a lighthouse project. this one is called the oak island lighthouse. :). we got to go inside, but not up to the top. it was a million degrees. then we walked across the street for some cool pics.

we are pretty frugal with dining out on vacations. i think it stems from living on the road and being very aware that we couldn’t make every location be a true all out vacation experience. also it’s expensive to feed all these people. whatever. on the last night, we decided it was time to have the all out beach trip seafood restaurant experience. based on the geolocation of these photos, i think we went to the provision company. it wasn’t really what i expected, but it was good. a lot of deep fried fare.

back at the airbnb, we had a little game night. not a big board/card gamer here. i try. i just don’t love them.

on our last day, we were able to squeeze in a tiny bit of beach time before the rains came (and we hit the road home).

and this concludes the tales of our summer beach trip.
