seppy temby. twenty twenty foury.

september was quite busy with life stuff. we managed to sneak away for the trip to see vance joy, but mostly we were settling another school year, with all new routines.

let’s kick things off with a discussion about this guy. it’s his senior year, so we are navigating all of the stuff that comes with that. senior pictures. graduation meetings. but, he only takes one actual class at reagan, with the rest online through community college, which gives him time to work plenty of shifts at krispy kreme.

another bills season is upon us. we are cautiously optimistic. a lot of departures in the off season. pundits telling us it might be a rebuilding year. but, nonetheless, we are all in. (and as you know i’m now typing this the week before the superbowl in february and it was a wild ride and the bills were amazing, but we were stopped short once again, so these hopeful faces are sort of hard to look at.)

lots of wings in the coming months.

i guess last month i said i would talk more about this school situation in the “coming months” so here it is. over the last few years, i have struggled immensely with my purpose. having homeschooled and the roadschooled for so long, my “job” was wrapped up in raising these kids. once they all were attending public school, i didn’t know what to do with myself. working at a fabric store and making cakes and quilts just wasn’t quite cutting it. so, i decided to head back to school. i’m taking the prerequisites for nursing school at forsyth tech now, hoping to get into an accelerated bsn program next year.

so. school. it’s weird. i’m 47 here. almost 48. the kids i go with are ikes age. some in their twenties. but mostly waaaaay younger. haha. it’s been fun though. and i like learning. i’m not impressed with the state of education these days. but i’m figuring it out. getting good grades. still annoying my professors. and hopefully figuring out what to do with my life.

i took two psych classes and anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 in the fall. fun times.

the classes were all 8 week courses so super intense. especially anatomy. i spent most of my home life studying. and stressing.

and now. a hazelnut update. she’s still a huge harry potter fan. and still hates homework. and still loves josh allen and the bills and incorporates this love into her assignments at school. 🙂

i am still cruising along with my 75 hard challenge. two daily workouts, one outside, rain or shine. logging all of my food and staying in a calorie deficit and eating whole foods. drinking water. reading (hardly a challenge with all of the school work). taking a daily progress pic (that will never see the light of day). and resisting the temptation that ike insists on bringing home weekly.

and now. for some various forms of wildlife. a yard infestation of deer. a weird shell-less egg. a cute turtle from one of my walks. and the habitat of a female teenager.

and now lastly. a photo dump of the worlds best dog. she’s really settling into middle aged dog life. so lazy. but still so derpy. always adorable.
