aunt eleanor’s quilt.

onto the quilting front…

i can’t remember if i’ve ever mentioned it here, but i received a windfall of fabric awhile back from a fellow quilter friend who got a bigger windfall and took what she wanted and passed the rest to me. 🙂

some of it was sort of my style. most was not. but, i did get a fat quarter bundle of floral and gingham pastel colored fabric (called “sweet love”) that was TOTALLY my aunt eleanor. i needed something to come together fast and easy, so patchwork it was…

i backed it with a green polkadot fabric from joanns (isaac helped me decide, both by input and by running rampant in joann’s causing me to make a hasty decision). the binding is something i found at sewingly yours that seemed to sort of match the colors and style of the fabrics.

on saturday, our guild had a sit ‘n sew, so i dragged the quilt there and managed to finish the quilting in the company of other quilty friends, while also enjoying a juicy burger. 🙂

it’s about 72″x81″.

and i delivered it last night. (we are in ny now).
my aunt loved it. “it’s all my colors!!”
then she discussed the various places she might put it. 🙂
