last friday, derek took a half day, so i could go to my quilt mom’s house, and she could teach me how to sew the sew together bag. (i wanted to take her class at the local quilt shop establishment, but i will be out of town for one of the sessions, so she offered to just have a sew day and she’d “oversee” my construction).
anyhooo…
all went well, for the most part.
until somehow, in the midst of some seam ripping and flipping and repinning and such… i managed to get one side of my zipper off center. so when it was zipped up, the two sides were about an inch mismatched. and i didn’t notice. and i finished the bag. and then. i noticed.
and i was sad.
i think you can kind of tell in this picture.
or you can at least see that zippers are twisty and funny on the sides.
so, i set it aside.
but, on sunday afternoon, i snuck away for a few minutes to fix it. (isaac and anna actually snuck away with me, which means, while i sewed, they made a big mess, asked me one million questions and fought 48 times).
and, without further ado, a gratuitous amount of pictures:
(note: the perfectly aligned sides).
i’m a little grumpy with how low my bikes were. i was nervous when i was cutting my pieces that they would get cut off on the top, so i apparently overcompensated and they are a little too low. oh well. now i know.
anyhooo…
that’s that. i will definitely make some more of these. someday…
It’s awesome, I love it!! I have this pattern but the crazy binding scares – need to take quilt mom’s class to learn it.
Brownie points for Derek for giving you a sew day 🙂
