our post salt lake city campground was just outside cedar city, utah. as we drove, i realized we were pretty close to cedar breaks national monument, which i had heard good things about. so, after we had settled in, we bundled all up and i whisked the kids away for a quick little adventure.
maybe i should have researched first.
because the visitor centers were closed for the season. (no junior ranger books or badges for this one).
and the trails were covered in snow.
so. we basically walked around the little viewing area for a minute and took some pictures.
the scenery was very reminiscent of bryce canyon.
the kids agreed to some photos. as long as i didn’t make them hike.
we did walk down just a wee bit of snow packed trail. just to see if we thought we were maybe interested. we (they) weren’t.
i drove up to a couple more spots for pics and views.
anna was willing to hop out and take a look at a few. and take a pic of me. thanks, anna!
so, basically, the trip was alright. worth the 45 minute drive for the views. but, we were definitely disappointed that we didn’t get the full experience. i would say, “maybe next time,” but i’m not so sure there will be one…
