last minute july fourth cupcakes.

due to pandemics, we didn’t have any extravagant fourth of july plans. we mostly laid low. ate a bunch of junk. and at the last minute, anna and i decided that a batch of not quite red, white, and blue cupcakes were in order.

we looked up a few ideas on pinterest and instagram and settled on trying our hand at some rosettes, squiggles, and little star flowers. we accented with some patriotic sprinkles mixed with some gold sprinkles from our massive sprinkle hoard.

anna did an excellent job, improving greatly with each cupcake. hazel decorated a couple with her own techniques and was quite proud of the result.

they were very tasty and fun and we were glad to have a few friends come over later to share with and ensure we didn’t eat six per person. we also delivered a few to the grandlidboms.

this also seems like a good technique for a lot of different holidays and celebrations. just switch up the colors and the sprinkles. and maybe try to shoot for more exact colors. 🙂
