the end of an era.

well. after six and a half years of making memories and going on amazing adventures in our fleetwood jamboree sport rv, it was time to bid it farewell. we cleaned her all up, took down all of our personal touches, and handed her off to her new family (who happen to be friends of ours).

i won’t bother trying to write another post about it, instead, here’s what i had to say on instagram the day we delivered her to her new home:

in november of 2015, derek asked if i wanted to just go take a look at a used rv he had found online. two months later, we sold our house and everything in it and hit the road as a full time rv family. for three and a half years, we zig zagged all over the country, making thousands of fantastic memories. three years ago, we settled back into a regular stupid house, but still took occasional trips, including an epic summer road trip last year.
but alas. the time has come, life changes, and today we said farewell to this little fleetwood jamboree sport.
while most of our memories were made outside of the actual rv, we occasionally found ourselves parked in particularly scenic locations. rv folk refer to these spots as their “backyard”. well. in honor of the sale of this old girl to her new family and the closing of this chapter in our lives, here are some of our most beautiful backyards.
thank you for the good times.in november of 2015, derek asked if i wanted to just go take a look at a used rv he had found online. two months later, we sold our house and everything in it and hit the road as a full time rv family. for three and a half years, we zig zagged all over the country, making thousands of fantastic memories. three years ago, we settled back into a regular stupid house, but still took occasional trips, including an epic summer road trip last year.

moab, utah
grand tetons, wyoming
zion national park, utah.
muir woods, california
thornhill broome beach, california
la push, washington
outer banks, nc

and that’s the end of the lidbom rambling road show. sigh.

  1. What beautiful backyards you have seen! And such wonderful memories of your journeys. Thank you for capturing them so well and sharing them with the rest of us through your blogs. It was almost as if we were there with you as you experienced all the natural beauty of our country and as your children grew up along the way.
