now here is the part where i try to remember all the little moments from last december. the day to day stuff. when it wasn’t actual christmas or hazel’s birthday or cookie baking mayhem.
let’s seeeeee. i always love the first few mornings after the tree is up and i have my coffee in the dark. full of christmas spirit. not quite stressed yet. admiring hurdling josh allen.
now that we are in school and hazel is in every activity, we find ourselves with even more commitments crammed around the holidays. like the christmas chorus concert. adorable.
i also chose to squeeze in a bunch of random extra activities. like meeting up with an old friend for delicious treats. first we hit up louie and honeys for their iconic cinnamon roll and delicious coffees. at this time we hatched a plan to visit liv for sweets bakery in king for their elf week menu. obviously i had to take the girls.
we continued our elf theme later in the week or month or whatever i don’t remember. i made spaghetti and meatballs and we had all sorts of sweet treats. we invited my work pal cynthia over to watch the movie with us. it was lovely. i also took elf themed cupcakes to hazel’s school christmas party, so you could say it was a very elf forward christmas this year.
christmastime is also prime ruby snuggle time.
one of our big gifts to hazel for her birthday was a room makeover. she chose the paint color. we did all the hard labor. then we set her back up with more of a big kid room, complete with an art station. and super cool curtains. i’m sad to report that this was the one and only time it has been this clean every since.
lastly. some miscellany. documentation of the abundance of hot chocolate consumption. tae kwon do graduation ceremony. and the beginnings of what might be an episode of extreme hoarders: pompom edition.
(i am no technically less than a year behind. lets go!!!!)
