i had high hopes of getting either derek or anna to write this blog post, but it looks like you’re stuck with me. i’ll do my best, considering i wasn’t even there.
ok. so. it goes like this. anna is OBSESSED with the outsiders musical. we thought it would be a super cool birthday gift to give her tickets to see said musical in NYC on our way to or from a summer vacation in the adirondacks. but after some investigations, we learned that part of her love is for the current cast whose contracts would end in april, so there there was some uncertainty whether or not she would be as interested come june. then it turned into a whole ordeal. we ended up getting her tickets during spring break, in early march, and she and derek flew to new york for an epic whirlwind visit. and that’s where we begin.
they had a very busy itinerary, hitting up all the tourist hot spots.
anna was super stoked to get a poem from this dude, who apparently has a huge insta following.
they did the full blown influencer skyline thing…

toy store shenanigans….
museum of broadway. the aspiring theater kid loved it.
then it was time for the MAIN EVENT. anna had been preparing for this moment for weeks. she even got to meet some of the cast. she reported back that it was everything she ever could have hoped and dreamed….
the next day, they crammed in a ton more tourism before their evening flight. obviously a little cruise out to see lovely lady liberty.
and of course a stop at the trade center memorial and museum.

and before they knew it, the trip was over.
it’s safe to say that this was a pretty fantastic birthday gift for theannababy. hopefully when her birthday actually rolls around in may, she will still feel that way. 🙂
