march was really quite boring around here. aside from a solo camping trip for me and a trip to nyc for derek and anna, the rest of the month was just standard mundane life. maybe even less exciting than that.
first of all, i know this to be true, because about half of my camera roll pics for the month are me at the gym. at my new establishment, there are many influencer wannabe’s recording their workouts. i jokingly posted a pic one day, claiming my own gymfluencer brand (old mom who wears baggy black and gray joggers and hoodies everyday and doesn’t take very aesthetically pleasing pics and never takes actual videos). and the next day there was a sign, a job posting if you will, looking for influencers. of course, being the sane and mature adult i am, i began to post daily pics of my not-very-influencer-esque visits to the gym. still waiting on a call.

maybe not quite HALF of my camera roll is gym pics. but for sure half of it is gym pics plus food pics. ive really been struggling to keep the nutrition part of my life on track lately. i don’t know why. i do great all week. and then i become unhinged all weekend. anyways. here’s some pics from my weekday good eating. 🙂

and then. the weekends. sometimes not even all the way into the weekend. sometimes like thursday or friday. it doesn’t help that liv for sweets bakery posts irrisistable menu options every weekend. like girl scout cookies and st. patty’s day (i didn’t actually eat those, but they were took pretty not to post). anyways. they have closed their location nearest to me, which is a blessing and a curse. oh. and then there was the weekend i slaved all day making everything but the kitchen sink cookies and proceeded to eat like 12 of them (along with practically everything else in sight) and i gaine NINE POUNDS in two days. so. yeah. struggling to stay on track. understatement.

oh wait. and then there’s the farmers market. which is less farmers this time of year and more bakeries and treats. cookies from chippeekayay. pastries from camino bakery. burritos from robert rust foods. and kimchi for gut health as my digestive system works overtime to process all this crap. haha.

ok. enough about food and the gym. (there’s not much else left to talk about).
lets discuss life with a teenage daughter. while theannababy is a fantastic student, beloved by all of her teachers, and a great friend to many, mostly polite, funny, smart, adventurous, artistic, musical, and generous, she has one slight character flaw. she is completely disorganized and leans heavily towards full blown hoarder. while i try to let her live her life and not be too stressed about it, especially given my propensity towards purging and organizing and tidiness, i do have breaking points. one such point was reached whilst assisting her with some math homework and i told her to get her graphing calculator and she revealed that she didn’t know where it was and that it had been missing for sometime.
so, i calmly and plainly explained (ie: completely lost it and yelled) that due to the missing expensive technology, we would be spending the following weekend cleaning her room. and posted about it in my stories, as one does. i would love to report that she willingly purged and we made major breakthroughs in the level of hoarding, but that would be a lie. we bought some extra storage and organized it slightly. and i will be super drill sergeant-y about keeping things tidy for the foreseeable future.
oh. and we never found the graphing calculator. ?

in sewing related news, let me begin with a pic of my haul from the shops i visited on my camping trip. i mostly stocked up on low volumes and black fabrics, but found a few other fun things here and there. the blacks are making their way into a black background quilt i’ve been working on for a bit. it’s mostly paper pieced so it will be awhile before i post it, but my mom saw it and requested a wall hanging of one of the flowers, so i whipped up an orange one to match her vibe. consider this the sneak peek of the quilt. made some new pillowcases for the kids. aaaaaaannnnndddddd…. starting to dip my toes into upcycling and garment sewings. stay tuned.

ok. once i removed the gym, food, ruby, sewing, and purging related photos, here’s what was left. haha. hazel at a fifth grade drum performance thing at her school. an outdoor viewing of wall-e at the muncy (friends) backyard cinema set-up. a so very super artistic pic of a flower (weed) growing out of a crack on one of my walks. and hazel and a pal at boba tea, a treat i’m not sure they will ever partake in again. i think it was the cute animals that won them over.

lastly. ruby. 🙂

and. that’s that. looking at the calendar for april, i can safely say, it should be more exciting. let’s hope.
