since i’m not a complete psycho, we didn’t hike every single day we were in the adirondacks. one day, we kayaked. haha. we had to book a little in advance and thankfully, the weather cooperated (was absolutely perfect) on the day we chose. we packed our lunches, loaded into a fleet of kayaks, and began our day on saranac lake.

the water was beautiful and calm as we paddled leisurely out to a little cluster of islands. i’ll spare you any sort of play by play account of this. i took a bunch of pics. the paddle out was uneventful. i’m not even sure which pics were on the way out and which were on the way back. here they are in no particular order:

we stopped to have lunch at a picnic area on one of the islands. it happened to be next to a huge rock “cliff” we could leap off of into the slightly frigid waters below. isaac and i took full advantage.

everyone enjoyed taking a dip in the water. it was a warm enough day that the cool waters were refreshing and not miserable.

after a nice little lunch and plenty of time to frolic, we made our way back. again. these may or may not be pics from the way out. i don’t even know. your takeaway should be: we paddled out. we swam. we ate. we paddled back.

and then. obviously. we wrapped up the day with some ice cream.

it was a great day on the waters of the adirondacks.
