firstly. let’s just get it out of the way. here’s some gym selfies. i’ve really cut back lately. the being hobbled has definitely hindered my gymfluencer aspirations. of course, when i take them, i still make them wacky and post weird things, just to ensure no one takes me all that seriously.

it’s been a rough few months for me physically, and as a result, i haven’t been able to do any autumn hiking, which is basically what i live for. so, before the leaves were brown and gross, i took a little trip up to pilot mountain, to walk the stupid paved paths to some overlooks, just to get a little fix. it was pretty lame, but it will have to do until i’m all healed up or i drive off a cliff. (i’ll get a good look at the fall foliage on my way down).

every year, in early november, we have an annual chili and chicken stew and smores bonfire where we invite a random assortment of friends and see what happens. it was mostly a good time this year, but if i’m honest, i barely wanted to do it this time around and it may or may not be the last one.

even though i tried to hide in the woods and avoid birthday celebrations, that didn’t stop my pal sara-without-an-H from forcing me to go out breakfast at midtown dessertery. i had the sweet potato pancakes, which are technically a vegetable, so all good nutritionally. she even gave me gifts. the best ever gifts, at that! a michael scott duck for the jeep and a hilarious candle. ike couldn’t resist the urge to know what josh allen smells like.

it was a struggle to get rolling with christmas decorations this year. thankfully ike assembled the tree one night and then derek put the lights on it the next, leaving just the garland and ornaments for the rest of the fam to do. hazel mostly handled the ornaments. and i mostly handled lounging and resting my dumb foot. this year we even hung a christmas themed quilt on the fireplace. and yes. josh allen is still our tree topper.

let’s see. there was this annual good time….

and i even did a wee tiny bit of sewing. i bought the garland kit a little while back at village fabric and actually remembered and managed to get it sewn up in time for display for christmas.

for the last little while my fabric stash has grown unruly. and after making that scrappy halloween quilt, my quilt room was a disaster. with my body betraying me, it seemed like a good time to finally organize and purge my fabric stash. and it will never look this nice again, so i took some pics and they will live here forever.

we still have ruby. she sleeps a lot. she tolerates us adorning her in bills gear for the game, but i think she associates it with a lot of yelling, because she seems so sad when we put it on her. also. please admire this polaroid pic of the best girl. i got the camera for my birthday and she was my first photo subject.

ok. in other random happenings in the month of november…..
um. i got into the ABSN program at WSSU. i think i’ve discussed this before on this blog. i had coffee with a pal and we took polaroids and solved the worlds problems. and i had a lovely diner breakfast with my longtime friend jude, who treated for my birthday just before i departed for the woods.

it’s basketball season again for the crazelnut. tuesdays and saturdays you can find us in the gym. derek had to work in raleigh on the day the bills played the texans, so he stopped at wegmans on his way home and got us some kimmelweck rolls for proper beef on weck. and then, a little car rider line selfie with crazelnut.

you know. just a little thanksgiving prep photo shoot. and omgomgomg! stranger things season five is FINALLY here. and. well. just a pic of my view at 445am every morning as i drink my coffee and journal.

and. that brings november to a close.
and the christmas mayhem is in full swing….
