twin meet and greet.

my baby brother and his baby mama (wife), who already have two young boys, decided(?) to have a third kiddo. and, well, that ended up being a third and fourth kiddo. since i am no longer beholden to the chaos of nursing school, when spring break rolled around, we packed up the posse and headed north to get our hands on the twins, hot off the presses.

of course, we also wanted to hang with the older boys, because they are actually way more fun than holding a boring baby. and thats where our story picks up. just after we pulled into my parents house, they arrived with said older boys. mayhem, tomfoolery, and shenanigans ensued. and, well, obviously, pizza and wings.

the next day, when we were given the all clear (a lot of logistics with newborn twins), we rolled in to meet the newest niece/nephew/cousins. we all were pretty stoked to hold the very tiny new humans.

the next morning, i was able to squeeze in a visit with my pal julie. we always try to make it work, but sometimes we have to get creative. for this trip, i joined her for a group fitness class at the new fancy pants batavia ymca, followed by a quick breakfast/coffee hang at a shop in town.

later, my sisters came out to meet the babies. it’s quite rare that we are all in one house, so this was pretty cool. after babies were held and our welcome was worn out, we went out to a local batavia ny dining establishment, and met up with frankie, for what can only be described as an obscene amount of (more) pizza.

while we were up there, mr. holden turned seven. we weren’t able to make it to his big 6-7 bash, but on his actual birthday, we rolled in with cake and gifts.

the cake eating got a little out of control. holden was eating like a maniac. barrett could not even contain himself. he was alternating between hysterical laughing and almost crying and telling holden to stop. it was pure joy.

here’s where i give erika ultimate props for crushing this wild life.

in our time away from the twins, there was lots of tim hortons coffee, a very sad plate of tops brand broccoli (stems), a very splurgy night of buffalo themed ice cream, and the worlds most epic goodwill trip, where we scored a dual cassette and 3 disc changer for $20 for Anna. and, to test it, she found some pretty sweet cds to add to her collection.

the trip was ultra super whirlwind. we squeezed in one last very quick visit to see the twins and boys before getting on the road. so glad we did because hazel finally held a baby. (she mostly played with holden, as they are actually weirdly close in age now).

gonna miss these tiny squeaky squirmy humans. the next time we see them, they will be giants.
