hanging rock hike & failed photoshoot.

somehow, on a slightly less cold february saturday, i talked anna into going on a hike with me. ruby requires no coercion, just a mention of a car ride and there’s no shaking her. we opted for moore’s knob, which is probably my favorite hike in the park at this point.

we usually opt to go counterclockwise on the loop, which is the steeper route to the top. a lot of stairs. not a lot of desire for photos. but the top is lovely. and with very few other hikers, we were able to let ruby run around a bit. i think she’s even smiling.

i had a small ulterior motive for the hike that day. i had just finished a pretty awesome quilt and i had hoped to get a cool “quilts in the wild” pic for my insta (and maybe this blog, should i ever catch back up). unfortunately, the wind thwarted my efforts, but we put up a valiant fight. (more pics at the strawberry quilt blog post).

we took a million photos, as per our usual. here’s a random assortment.\

so. then we hiked back down. uneventful. i think. i don’t have any pictures and if you think i remember the specific details of this day, you would be mistaken.
