upcycled hoodie, take one.

awhile back, i took a class at village fabric on the art of upcycling an old textile of some sort into an oversized hoodie. i used a thrifted chenille bedspread and it was pretty cool and i vowed to make a million more. and then i didn’t.

but when the sully’s upcycled hoodie pattern was released recently, by a sewist (sully) who has made millions of them herself, i knew that it would be a good pattern and that it was time to give it another go. i busted out a thrifted quilt i found a few months ago. it had lots of damage, so i had to work around those parts, but but i was still able to get all of the pieces cut out how i wanted.

a certain family member was sure that i laid the quilt out for her.

the hoodie came together so so fast and i didn’t stop to take any progress pics along the way. but, i did take a number of pics modeling it.

the head hole was a little snug, so i will keep that in mind on my next one, but i don’t love this one enough to do anything about it.

so that’s that. the first hoodie of hopefully many.
