We are leaving today to head to NY for Christmas. I can’t wait. Real snow and cold. Christmas excitement the way I remember from being a kid. Even though it’s not quite the same these days. We’re taking the truck so we don’t get stuck.

Internet Problems
We have been experiencing technical difficulties with our internet connection(s). We’ve switched from DSL to cable, but it’s still not quite right.
Durham Trip
We went back to Durham over the weekend to see old friends before Christmas. We had coffee with some of Derek’s friends at a little diner called Elmo’s. Then we saw tons of BBC people. We went to Buffalo’s with Tim, Gloria, Dennis and Susan. Yummy. They’ve “upped” their Hotness Scale and I’m fighting some […]
Cookie Madness!
I’ve been making crazy amounts of Christmas cookies. I made (alcohol free) rum balls, no bake oatmeal cookies, puppy chow, chocolate chip, chocolate coconut bars, gingerbread and hershey’s kiss peanut butter cookies. I got some BAD recipes from christmas-cookies.com. I’m publicly denouncing them here. Less than two weeks until we head to NY for Christmas […]
Thanksgiving
The Thanksgiving 4-day weekend is almost over. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Derek’s uncle’s house, with all of his family. It was fun. Lots of food. Lots. On Friday, we tried to shop with the rest of the crazy people, to get good deals. We did alright. But, we tired quickly. We went to dinner […]
Apple Pie
Derek and I made a homemade apple pie last night. It was fun. Lots of work and some frustration. It’s for Thanksgiving TOMORROW!!! I wanted to make a pie, so I could put leaf designs on the crust. 🙂
My Birthday
Yesterday I turned 27. That is very old. We didn’t do much of anything because I haven’t made many new pals in Winston-Salem. We DID go to dinner at Lonestar where I had the worst restaurant experience I can ever remember. The server sat at a table with friends about five feet away, our food […]
Jake’s Birthday Weekend
We went to NY this past weekend for Jake’s sixth birthday. We got him Finding Nemo. We had a party with Pokemon cupcakes. We went to see Elf and it was great!! Anyhow, the weekend was awesome. I’ve posted some pictures here.
Batavia, NY
Derek and I are heading to the homeland today. Wednesday was Jake’s 6th birthday and we are going to have a party tomorrow, complete with Pokemon cupcakes. We are also going to take him to see Elf. More for us, than for him… It might snow!!
One Year Down….
It was one full year ago that I met Derek Lidbom. Crazy. Well, a year and a day, now. He gave me a North Face ear warmer for a gift, because I lost mine on our first date. We had a Halloween “party” this weekend. It was pretty boring. We watched the Great Pumpkin and […]
