Let it Ice

Posted on December 15, 2005February 24, 2017by sarah

We had our first school cancellation today. There’s about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch of ice on everything outside. It’s nice. The ice is Lucy’s worst enemy. She runs out onto the deck to go in the backyard and slides all over the place. This makes her quite apprehensive about trekking the staircase. Many […]

2 Hour Delay

Posted on January 31, 2005February 24, 2017by sarah

We had a two hour delay this morning for NO APPARENT REASON. The weather was bad Saturday night. And then all the ice was dryed up by the afternoon sun yesterday. Then, in the middle of the evening, I received an email saying that school was delayed. Now THAT is precaution. It made me look […]

To NY Again

Posted on December 22, 2004February 24, 2017by sarah

We are heading back to NY tonight (after our game against Mt. Tabor). This is a snapshot of part of our Christmas journey last year. It was quite nightmarish for awhile (in West Virginia). Hopefully, better weather will prevail and trip will be smooth and danger free. School is finished. I will run up there […]

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring…

Posted on May 3, 2004February 24, 2017by sarah

So, we went to the beach this weekend and it rained pretty much the whole time. It wasn’t very warm. Well, it cleared up a little and warmed up a little — Just as we were leaving. It was a pretty good time. I got to relax. Eat out. Play board (bored?) games. And I […]

SarahPowers

Posted on February 26, 2004February 10, 2011by sarah

Sarah Powers is my best pal from BHS days, and she is moving to Raleigh with her boyfriend Jack in a few weeks. Yesterday, I went out and saw them as they completed a 4 day long quest for living arrangements. My school sent me to some training in Durham, so it worked out nicely. […]

ANOTHER Snow Day

Posted on February 16, 2004February 10, 2011by sarah

We had another snow day today. It was only a teacher work day, no students were coming, but it was still a snow day. And we have to make it up. Pain in my butt. Oh well, I got some stuff done on my parents site and worked out leisurely, and so on and so […]

Another Snow Day

Posted on February 12, 2004February 10, 2011by sarah

Today was yet another snow day. It’s kind of getting old. It’s hard to get the kids settled after days off and especially with just one day until the weekend. And… we’ll have to make it up, with all the rest, and when we do, there will be more kids (they start coming in from […]

Optional Teacher Work Day

Posted on January 28, 2004February 10, 2011by sarah

Monday and Tuesday were full-fledged snow days. Today was and tomorrow will be an “optional teacher workday”. Which means, we can go in and work if we want, or we can use accrued vacation time. Since, I have NO accrued time, I’ll work. 🙂 Actually, it’s great. It gives me time to organize and get […]
