autumn cupcakes for a friend.

my friend heather has a birthday next week. ย her sister ashley threw a semi-surprise party for her. ย semi because heather knew she was going to a pampered chef party and had no idea it was for her.

it was super fun. ashley got the idea (from pinterest, of course) to have a favorite things party. we all brought three of our favorite things in the $5-10 price range. (the same thing, three times, that is). sooooo, we went around, in order of birthdate and gave one of our things to heather, the birthday girl. and the other two went to whomever’s name was drawn for that turn.

i took bath and body “leaves” scented candles. my name was drawn for some fuzzy socks, chapstick and gum from one friend and for a big costco bin of toffee from another. sweet. i was a little worried i’d wind up with some dangly earrings and hot pink nail polish. so it all worked out. ๐Ÿ™‚

anyhoooo…
the whole point of this post is that i made fun cupcakes for the party. heather loves yellow cake and chocolate frosting, so i stuck to the basics there, but added some cute fall leaves made with fondant to liven them up.

and here they are:

and on display at the party.

it was super fun and a good break from a regular old boring party. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. you know i would’ve traded you if you would’ve gotten the dangly earrings ๐Ÿ™‚ i still wish we could’ve seen the reaction though… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Can I be your assistant when you’re a contestant on Cupcake Wars? Do you ever watch that show?

  3. sure! I have seen it once or twice. I’m more a decorator than a delicious cupcake maker though…
