The Thanksgiving 4-day weekend is almost over. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Derek’s uncle’s house, with all of his family. It was fun. Lots of food. Lots. On Friday, we tried to shop with the rest of the crazy people, to get good deals. We did alright. But, we tired quickly. We went to dinner […]

My Birthday

Posted on November 17, 2003February 10, 2011by sarah

Yesterday I turned 27. That is very old. We didn’t do much of anything because I haven’t made many new pals in Winston-Salem. We DID go to dinner at Lonestar where I had the worst restaurant experience I can ever remember. The server sat at a table with friends about five feet away, our food […]

One Year Down….

Posted on November 3, 2003February 10, 2011by sarah

It was one full year ago that I met Derek Lidbom. Crazy. Well, a year and a day, now. He gave me a North Face ear warmer for a gift, because I lost mine on our first date. We had a Halloween “party” this weekend. It was pretty boring. We watched the Great Pumpkin and […]

LeAnn’s wedding

Posted on October 30, 2003February 10, 2011by sarah

I went to LeAnn’s wedding this weekend. She was so happy and pretty and I had a great time seeing old pals. If you click the picture below, I’ve added a “story” about it in my biography section. In other news, I quit my job teaching. It was just completely overwhelming and frustrating and tiring […]

Second Week OVER

Posted on October 23, 2003February 10, 2011by sarah

My second week of teaching is OVER. Really, it’s been 9 days. i am taking tomorrow off to go to LeAnn’s wedding. She’s making me be in it. The teaching thing is rough. More often than not, I find myself wondering why I’ve chosen to do this to myself. There have been many 10+ hour […]

Teaching

Posted on October 17, 2003February 10, 2011by sarah

This is hard. These kids are CRAZY!!!! I am their fifth-ish teacher (I never have found out EXACTLY how many they’ve had). I can’t control them. They don’t have very strong math skills for the few moments I can control them. It’s my worst nightmare. Thankfully, it’s Friday and I have two days free from […]

Derek’s friends

Posted on September 30, 2003February 10, 2011by sarah

We had dinner last night with Derek’s old roommate from college (another Derek) and his wife Susan. It was a lot of fun. We ate at Baja Fresh (we get the Burrito Dos Manos and split it for a grand total of $8.05 – awesome). We told our tale of how we met and stuff […]
