sometimes, we can get the boy to sit still for a couple minutes by scratching his belly. but, let my be clear, it’s only a couple minutes max.
derek
sans dad
derek left this morning for a week long training in orlando. isaac and i are on our own. i think we’ll fare better than last year’s week long training (isaac was 2 months old).
A Pleasant Surprise
Today, right after Derek’s mom came over to help with the boy, I heard the back door open. I looked through the kitchen, expecting to see Derek’s dad, only to see Derek Lidbom himself standing there. He had changed his flight and come home a day earlier (probably because of my alluding to possibly putting […]
the life and times
ok, so here’s the weekly update: Derek is out of town (Orlando) at a training thing for his work. He left thursday and returns next friday. I’ve been too busy to be affected by any bouts of loneliness or depression. I have my 4th (and final) teaching observation of the year tomorrow. Rumor has it, […]
Dos Anos
Today marks the two year anniversary of my marriage to Derek R. Lidbom. Yup. Two years ago today, we were standing in the cold fog, awaiting our forever together. Today, I’m in a warm house, awaiting my trip to school. In school news… we are down to the final week. Not including two days next […]
Just Lucy and Me
It’s been just me and Lucy here for awhile. Derek has been out of town (in Vegas) since Tuesday. He’ll be back this Tuesday. I took Lucy to a Forbush football game on Friday night. They lost. Lucy frollicked with my mentor’s puppy. Then, we returned to scenic Yadkinville on Saturday to play with Teresa […]
Texas Roadhouse
Let’s see…. Derek and I started off our weekend with a tasty trip to the newly opened Texas Roadhouse. I had a great meal (prime rib, caesar salad, and sweet potato… not much variation, here). Above picture details the devouring… Derek’s Filet was a little undercooked — and that’s hard to do for him. There […]
Zzzzzzzz Zzzzz zzz
I’m tired. Teaching in a regular classroom is exhausting. It seems like the next ten months of my life looks something like this: 1. Awaken. 2. Desperately long for another hour of sleep. 3. Shower, eat and go, all in a half-asleep stupor. 4. Make the 20 minute trek to work, coming to grips with […]
