for our spontaneous one day stay in albuquerque, i was faced with a pressing decision. free science museum OR petroglyph national monument. since we had already seen a bunch of petroglyphs at three rivers and had just visited a national monument the day before, i figured the kids wouldn’t be super excited about petroglyph that […]

this week’s (un)events
it’s been a relatively boring week at our house. on monday, i got to meet baby livy when i took the barrier family a homecooked meal. she’s quite cute and apparently she sleeps all the time. i’m jealous. tuesday, isaac and i went to the park, since it was very nice out. derek stayed home […]
Jake in NC – Days 5 & 6
Lots to report this time… Yesterday, Jake and I walked into the hoppin’ town of Lewisville and scored some coffees from Casanova’s. Then, Derek’s sister’s little boy came over. Jake taught him how to jump off the couch onto a pile of pillows. We only watched him for a little bit, before Derek’s mom came […]
Wii Update
Derek Lidbom is suffering from extreme muscle soreness after playing an excessive amount of Wii Sports (bowling, tennis, boxing and baseball). The game is definitely as dangerous as we were warned.I would advise that you clear out all open beverage containers and other possible carpet damaging vessels. 🙂 But, it’s fun.

the life and times
ok, so here’s the weekly update: Derek is out of town (Orlando) at a training thing for his work. He left thursday and returns next friday. I’ve been too busy to be affected by any bouts of loneliness or depression. I have my 4th (and final) teaching observation of the year tomorrow. Rumor has it, […]
Rupert!!!
Rupert won the “America’s Choice” award on Survivor last night. I love Rupert. We watched him in Pearl Islands, and we were very sad when he was voted off. And we watched him in All-Stars, and he was again, voted off (this time much later in the game). But, he got his reward in the […]
The Restaurant
Not much to report from this weekend. We rented Timeline on Friday. Not a very good “acting” movie. The idea was alright. And it was interesting. But, I’m pretty sure I can act better. We watched The Restaurant marathon on Bravo yesterday. It was very interesting for me, because I’ve done the food-service thing for […]
3 Hours of TV
We just got down watching three full hours of adventure/reality TV. At 8:00 on CBS, we tuned into Survivor All-Stars, where Kathy was voted off. During the commercials, I switched to Fox to see who was voted off of American Idol (it was JPL – the horrible dancer with the funky attitude), and occasionally to […]
