the weather has been pretty mild here in the carolinas this almost-winter… we’ve been out to the park twice in the last week. i didn’t get many pics of the kids at the first park. mostly because it’s got a ginormous two story play structure that my kids seem to have very little fear of, […]

brown’s berry patch
shortly after awakening this morning, i determined that i was taking the lidkids on an adventure. as soon as they woke up, i dressed them and packed and we headed to brown’s berry patch, about 45 minutes north. just shy of lake ontario. we mostly played. we picked zero berries. we didn’t even buy any […]
batavia ny. tuesday.
i’m trying to cram this post in quickly before i head to bed. after a restless night of being eaten alive by mosquitos, i awakened, fed the lidkids breakfast and we headed off to austin park, once home to the dirtiest, diseasiest wading pool in america. or maybe batavia. and i can proudly say, i […]
most wonderful time of the year.
we are in the middle of the approximately one month long season of spring where the weather in north carolina is 100% awesome. it’s just after the short winter where everyone gripes about schools closing for pending inclement weather and ice storms shut down the state every few weeks. and it’s just before the 9 […]
new yorkers come to town.
the first shift of my family (mom, sister, niece) arrived last wednesday morning. then, on friday, we took a RIDICULOUSLY long trip to the airport to pick up my stepdad and brother, who had been delayed, bumped, rerouted and needed three flights over the course of 9 hours to get here. (ps. it takes about […]
spring!!! (almost).

warm days
we’ve been getting quite a few warm days here lately. and we’ve been taking advantage, getting outside as much as we can. for walks, to the park, or even just sitting in the hard, crunchy, mostly dormant grass in the front yard.

it’s 73 degrees right now. it’s been the most beautiful of days, and we took full advantage. we started our day with a visit from our small friend maya, daughter of heather, who went up to the hospital for the day to spend time with her mom. isaac and maya played for a bit, while […]
north carolina february…
the weather has been amazing this week, so we have taken every opportunity to go to the park. we’ve been three times, i think. and we’re scheduled for trip number four tomorrow with some friends… it’s been so nice to get out of the stupid house of germs and run around and get some sun.
vitamin d.
i can’t remember if i mentioned it in the last post, and i’m too lazy to check and see, but after we got back from florida on friday night, we were hit hard with a family of four sized stomach bug. it was not fun. saturday wasn’t much better, spent mostly lying around on couches […]
