gingham quilt

Posted on July 7, 2011by sarah

got the bright idea from crazy mom quilts blog to make a gingham quilt. i had it done from start to finish in like 12 days. and that includes some down time when i moved my craft room from a cramps corner of the bedroom to the basement (dungeon). and some down time while i […]

romper room

Posted on June 22, 2011June 22, 2011by sarah

after reading a blog post about how easy it is to do shirring and make a romper, i decided i needed to make anna a sweet summer outfit… so, bridgette and i hit up karen gray’s, a local fabric store and i picked out a pretty little fabric (to match anna’s pink sneakers, of course). […]

12 little boom boxes.

Posted on June 3, 2011June 3, 2011by sarah

the other day, i went on a thrifting spree with my friend jessica. first, we went to megathrift, because all clothes were half off. she with a 1.5ish year old girl and a brand brand new baby boy and i with my extra tall 4 year old boy and my monster baby girl… we have […]

apron mania

Posted on May 26, 2011by sarah

while i finished up isaac’s quilt, my friend bridgette waited patiently to begin our next craft project… making aprons for addison and anna. while i was at it, i decided to make one for my sister’s baby’s 2nd birthday… we invented our own patterns and pretty much were winging it the entire way. here are […]

rainbow crafting

Posted on May 10, 2011by sarah

finally, the last in my series of posts about anna’s birthday party… i made these two things for her to wear to her rainbow-ific event. 1) a rainbow bib to smear rainbow cake all over. i used leftover fabric from her quilt (and some from ike’s quilt). and manhandled my worst binding job ever. but, […]

the zig zag quilt marathon.

Posted on April 21, 2011April 21, 2011by sarah

warning: this is an extremely long post. there may or may not be 16 pictures. after completing anna’s quilt, i decided that isaac was in need of one himself. after a whole lot of surfing and searching, i settled on attempting a queen size zig zag quilt. then, derek bought me a new sewing machine […]

various sorts of craftiness…

Posted on April 6, 2011by sarah

i had a day full of miscellaneous crafting. first, i went to bridgette’s house, where she, jude and i, made freezer paper stencils, while the little people ran amuck in bridgette’s big house. jude did a dog, bridgette did some flip flops and i, of course, did a robot. i used silver paint on a […]

baby ava’s monster

Posted on March 28, 2011March 29, 2011by sarah

i had a little difficulty with attaching a cute tab so the monster could be hung as decor. wound up severing the top of the monsters head off and sewing it up (haphazardly). i was grumbly about it, but fortunately the monsters are already a bit haphazard and imperfect, so it worked, i guess.

extreme* hoodie makeover

Posted on March 22, 2011March 22, 2011by sarah

*not really extreme. i bought this hoodie at a consignment store for $1.00 on friday: (sorry for the terrible picture quality. i took it to send to a friend and then never took a better “before” picture). if you can’t tell, it’s white with an embroidered boat. a boat. really? anyhow, i couldn’t decide what […]

i just can’t stop

Posted on March 21, 2011by sarah

(but in my defense, some of these are gifts). (and in my defense, anna has already ruined a few by wearing them on concrete. they’re not cut out for life on the knees of a crawling baby on concrete).
