Nothing

Posted on March 30, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

I really don’t have much to say, but I thought it was time for an update. Ummmmm…. The softball team is 9-0. Most of the games have been shutouts/blowouts, but we had a couple of close calls. In both we pulled in out in the bottom of the last (7th once, 8th once) inning. It’s […]

the life and times

Posted on February 26, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

ok, so here’s the weekly update: Derek is out of town (Orlando) at a training thing for his work. He left thursday and returns next friday. I’ve been too busy to be affected by any bouts of loneliness or depression. I have my 4th (and final) teaching observation of the year tomorrow. Rumor has it, […]

Post Season

Posted on February 11, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

So, we are done with our regular season in hoops. We won decidedly last night and finished fourth in the conference. We play our first playoff game at home on Monday. We will be playing the same team we beat last night. Should (hopefully) go well. In other news, teaching is going well. I’m enjoying […]

Sweep

Posted on January 28, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

Last night, we defeated our cross-county rivals, the Starmount Rams, for the second time this season, giving us the sweep for the regular season. It was a very assuring 15 point victory. Especially because after our last 15 point victory, it was rumored that their coach was making the claim that we may be better […]

Nerds

Posted on January 25, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

We started our new semester last week. I am no longer teaching 2 classes of Algebra Ia and one class of Algebra II. I have made the switch to one class of Precalculus and 2 of Algebra II. It’s very sweet. My new kids are nerds. They like math. They like school. They like to […]

No More North Face

Posted on January 11, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

When I returned to school after Christmas, it seemed like every other kid had a North Face Denali fleece. Furthermore, most of them were pink or light yellow or lavender. Not your typical outdoor/hiker shades. After another teacher strolled in with a fashionably PLUM NF fleece, I decided that mine (red) must go. I hopped […]

It All Comes Down To This

Posted on January 11, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

My semester is over. Just two days of intense testing to round it out. I was at school until 8:00 pm giving some last minute cram sessions to some Algebra II students. I am a little worried that they aren’t as prepared as last year. We did lose two days to snow (but, never fear, […]

Back to School…

Posted on January 2, 2006February 24, 2017by sarah

We started back today. One day before the general population had to return to their respective jobs. I think it’s a conspiracy to allow parents one “kid-free” vacation day during the Christmas break. Actually, I could care less. I have the entire summer off, so the sooner we start back, the sooner I am basking […]

Some Updates

Posted on December 19, 2005February 24, 2017by sarah

In recent news: Our hoops team is 8-2. We play tomorrow night against an atrocious team, so we should (barring a complete meltdown) go to 9-2. Wednesday, we play Lexington, where I started my teaching career. And then suspended it a few weeks later. I got two A’s in my two classes. It’s official. We […]
